Compare your home's energy use

Home Comparison lets you compare your power use to other homes just like yours, so you can see if you use more, or less than them.

Predict your energy use

Electricity Forecast lets you predict how much energy you’ll be using up to a week ahead, so you stay on top of your energy use. It’s also perfect for helping you pick your Power Shout. Electricity forecast uses your energy usage, the information you’ve provided in your home profile and the weather to estimate your energy forecast. We use a self-learning algorithm, which means the accuracy of the prediction improves over time.

If you qualify for Electricity Forecasting this will be available in the app. This is dependent on your meter type and other factors.

Electricity Forecast is not an actual reading but an estimate of your variable costs and daily fixed charges. Actual usage and amounts may vary.

See where your home uses the most energy

Usage Breakdown gives you an estimate of how much energy you're using in your home, on things like heating, hot water and lighting.

To get Usage Breakdown, you’ll need to fill out your home profile. Your energy use is combined with the information in your home profile to estimate where you use your power. We use a self-learning algorithm, which means the accuracy of the prediction improves over time.

If you qualify for Usage Breakdown this will be available in the Energy IQ app. This is dependent on your meter type, whether we have 12 months of data for you at your current address, and other factors.

Eligibility criteria applies*. Usage Breakdown is based on an estimate of your variable costs and daily fixed charges. Actual usage and amounts may vary.

Get alerts from your gas bottle

Bottled Gas Monitoring lets you know how much gas you have remaining in your 45kg bottles and when to order a refill so you don’t run out. Sensor devices are placed under your bottles and a communication device is set-up close-by.

The sensor devices weigh the amount of gas remaining in each bottle and transmit this data to Genesis.

We’ll transform this data into useful information that you can view in the Energy IQ app and if you need to, you can also place your order at the same time.

*Usage breakdown - eligibility criteria:

Must have an electricity smart meter with 1/2 hourly data.
Mandatory questions of the home profile must be completed in Energy IQ.
At least 30 days of electricity usage data for 'lite' version (high level breakdown only).
At least one year worth of electricity usage data for 'full' version.

I’ve forgotten my username
If you’ve forgotten your username, you can try using the email address that you originally set up for the Genesis app instead.

The email address you provided for the Genesis app may be different to the one you use for other things (even with Genesis). If you’re unsure which email address we’ve got loaded for you on the app, and you’ve tried all your possible email addresses, call us on 0800 300 400 and we’ll sort things out.

I’ve forgotten my password
If you’ve forgotten your password, simply click ‘forgot password’ on the Login screen then enter your email address. We’ll send you an email with a “Magic Link” that you can click through on, and you’ll be logged in to the app straight away.

The email address you enter will only work if it’s the same one you provided when you registered for the Genesis app. This may be a different address to the one you use for other things (even with Genesis). If you’ve tried all your possible email addresses and still haven’t got an email from us, call us on 0800 300 400 and we’ll sort things out.

I’ve entered my email address on the ‘Forgot password’ screen, but I haven’t received an email
First check your junk mail folder in case the email has been sent there.

If you’ve tried all your possible email addresses and still haven’t got an email from us, call us on 0800 300 400 and we’ll sort things out.

I requested a Magic Link through the app, but when I click the link, it doesn’t work
Each Magic Link can only be used once, and will expire after 24 hours. If your Magic Link didn’t work the first time or has expired, you can go back into the Login screen of the app and request a new one through the ‘forgot password’ link.

If you’ve tried this a couple of times and the Magic Link still isn’t working, call us on 0800 300 400 and we’ll sort things out.

I requested a Magic Link on my app, but I don’t have email on my phone to open it
The Magic Link we send you must be opened by email on the same mobile device that the Energy IQ app is installed on. If you open your email on another mobile device, or on your computer, the Magic Link won’t work.

If you’re an Apple user and you don’t have your email set up on the same device as the Energy IQ app is installed, you can scan the QR code in the email we sent you, using the device the Genesis Energy IQ app is installed on.
